The ocean’s ability to constantly reshape coastal areas fascinates me. In the blink of an eye…or a storm, a new channel can be created between bodies of water formerly separated by land. It’s a configuration that often creates a more protected area for sea life to breed.

This painting was inspired by Midnight Pass and is part of my “Engulfed” series, based on childhood memories of visits to Siesta Key on the Gulf of Mexico.

Acrylic, graphite and oil pastel on 300# Fabriano Pittura Paper.

This original 8” x 11” painting arrives ready to frame, matted in a standard sized 16” x 12” acid free mat with backing, and sealed in a protective acetate bag.

Almost forgot it was Friday! Some works in progress this week, none finished. They’re all over the place as I explore some ideas and that’s okay. Really enjoyed working on the largest (last) one, which tells me something. Happy weekend!
And now we’ve lost our Thumbelina, the beautiful, beloved torbie girl who was the yin to the yang of her sister Cinderella. She left us on Friday after 15 wonderful years and 5 months…5 months and one day after her sister. 💔 💔 We loved
